For the third consecutive year, Asia Art Archive presents a series of programmes with some of the leading experts and practitioners in the field. 'Backroom Conversations' includes four panel discussions and two screenings that touch on a number of prevalent issues and offer a first-hand look into today’s world of contemporary art:

Thurs 27 May | 6–8 pm | Containers of the Present: Institutional Collections and the History of Japanese Contemporary Art
Shinji Kohmoto, Yuko Hasegawa, Yukie Kamiya, Barbara London, Alexandra Munroe. Moderated by Andrew Maerkle.

Fri 28 May | 3.30–5.30 pm | Private Endowments in Contemporary Art
Dr. Gene Sherman, Yana Peel, Daniela Zyman, Agnes Lin. Moderated by Savita Apte.

Sat 29 May | 2–4 pm | Artist as Activist, Art as Catalyst
*A series of screenings are held in conjunction with this panel. (Saturday 10.45am and Sunday 2pm)

Sat 29 May | 4.15 – 6.15 pm | In the Aftermath of the White Cube: Museums and Other Spaces
Sabine Breitwieser, Eungie Joo, Bec Dean, Michael Rush. Moderated by Adele Tan.

The present publication includes the programme details as well as brief biographies of the speakers and moderators.
