Catalogue of solo exhibition by Sunil Gawde at Sakshi Gallery in 2005. Ranjit Hoskote wrote, 'In "Blind Bulb etc,', the artist explores the world of the sleeping object that awakes to the viewer's touch and gaze: the metal butterfly that is triggered off by our moment of looking; the spring that works its way around the pendulum bob, dragging and raising itself by sheer will power; the gigantic bulb that, sheathed in black, refuses to answer us; or its twin, which looks back at us with a quizzical glass eye; and the shoal of moons that dip in and out of view on a darkened sky map, pursuing their relentless logic of rotation, revolution and eclipse, marking off our cirlces and ellipses, our hours and days.' With artist biography.
