This catalogue was published in conjunction with the second solo exhibition of Singaporean artist Ng Eng Teng at the National University of Singapore Museum, which was held to showcase Ng's second donation to the Museum.
Produced between 1991-1998, this collection, consisting of 173 pieces of drawings and sculptures, deal almost exclusively with the human figure. The compositions found in these works signal a radical shift in Ng's treatment of the figure; they exemplify a heightened intensity of symbolic tenor and a compact distillation of formal appearance not encountered in earlier works. Biographical information of the artist and a complete catalogue of the second collection (compiled by Joyce Fan) are included. With a foreword by Professor Lim Pin, Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Singapore.
