It surveys book art as a genre of art that becomes prominent from late twentieth century. Contemporary artists have made use of the book to explore the interplay between the function, structure, format, and language by deconstructing the book's physicality.

Includes an introduction briefly summarising the history of the book, and illustrations of book art that draw examples from art, installation, and design.

Each plate is explained in detail.

Includes a page of online resources.

Text by Christine Antaya.
