The present exhibition is the development of an idea first explored in 'Six Crates of Architecture' held at Harvard University in 2002. Chang Yung Ho recognized that this was an extremely effective way of disseminating his ideas. Structurally more complex than the Harvard creates, the six boxes in the exhibition are hybrids, containers of architectural models and plans that function as portable sculptures. As said by Chang Yung Ho about the design of the boxes, 'All the designs embrace a notion of Micro-Urbanism, which perceives urbanity as a set of relationships - spatial, physical, social, political, economical and cultural - and attempts to establish such relationships within indivdual buildings. Thus a singular piece of architectures, however small, may be dissolved into a group of built elements to create the urban condition. In the end, the building may assume the quality of a compound, a complex, a village, a block, or a city, perhaps a miniature city.' Included in the catalgue are drawings of these boxes.
