In 2007, the National Art Gallery of the Philippines separated itself from the National Museum and will operate as its own entity apart from the natural sciences and archaeological sections, as well as the Museum of the Filipino People (ethnic and folk art exhibitions). The National Gallery of Art has thus been rearranged under the leadership of Corazon Alvina and the curatorship of Patrick Flores. The collections are permanent, and have been displayed to celebrate the plurality of Philippine artistic traditions. Guillermo guides the reader through the new gallery layout, commenting on the highlights.
