Born in 1981, Chi Peng graduated from the Digital Media Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2005. The present publication is the catalogue of Chi Peng's first solo exhibition outside China.
Chi Peng’s works heavily rely on the image of the body and an audacious use of nudity has become part of his repertoire. The photographic works featured here are scenes of passionate sexual encounters set against ubiquitous locations such as telephone booths and office cubicles. The artist is experimenting through self representation and challenging the viewers to reflect on issues of identity and alienation in the modern world. Artist biography is provided.
