'China Without Borders gathers together thirty contemporary Chinese artists and celebrates the artistic diversity represented by their works. In the past decade, worldwide interest in contemporary Chinese art has expanded. China is not merely a geopolitical entity whose social, political, and economic transformations are concentrated on a landmass designated as "China". Rather, China is embodied in multiple Chinas - the People's Republic, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and in Chinese communities scattered throughout the world. For this exhibition, China might best be considered in terms of culture and identity - concepts which defy borders.' - excerpt from introduction by Melissa Walt Thompson. Images of works are accompanied by short biographies of the artists.
