The catalogue was published in conjunction with the exhibition '2006 International Exhibition, Chinagate' held at the Arko Art Center in Seoul, Korea. Organised by the Arts Council Korea, the exhibition is designed to inform the international visual art world of the stream and potential of Korean art and simultaneously introduce the international trends of contemporary art to Korea. 'Chinagate' features works by 11 Chinese artists who work across a range media, including photography, video, performance and installation. Also featured in the catalogue are three seminars on the trends in contemporary Chinese art, the Chinese art market, and art exchanges between Korea and China. With artist biographies.
