This monograph incorporates works of oil paintings and mixed media by Chen Chunmu.
'Chen Chunmu's works are beyond the logic, which are disordered and confused. In his own words it's his supposition of the future, however, it's all right to say it is the prehistoric civilisation because it may be any space-time fragment. He imagines many alien monsters, for instance, plants and animals are growing from human body or the facial features are growing from the genital. His paintings give us complex feelings of vision, hearing, smell, taste and tactile sense, whose permutation and combination, potential logic, and attitude position are undoubtedly different from the already existing worldview of the Chinese contemporary art mainstream schema.' - excerpted from the Preface
Includes artist's interview and biography.
