Community art project curated by Imelda Cajipe Endaya. DENSITIES involves the participation of thirty artists, including the architect Paolo Alcazaren, collaborating on a project concerning urban over-crowding. Manila is one of the densest-packed cities in the world caused by limited low-rise housing, bad transportation networks and infrastructure and inefficient land use. This exhibition explores these problems and the effects - lack of space and privacy - has on the psyche (as well as adaptive behaviour) of Manilans living in the city. Several cargo containers, each holding a different art installation on the above themes, by different groups of artists or individual artists were arranged outside on the lawn of the Cultural Centre of the Philippines (Manila) opposite the main theatre.
