This publication is produced on the occasion of the exhibition 'Dialogue with the Bed'. This exhibition was given to provide a place with the public where dialogues with space were encouraged. Folding beds were used as the language, communicating with the public about the reflections of the urban environment, society and life.

經典的尼龍摺床絕對是土生土長,made in Hong Kong的產物。在香港的居住環境下「催生」的都市化產物。藝術家李民偉帶著摺床離家出走,到處嬉戲,由私人空間走進公共領域,近至旺角彌敦道、時代廣場、 西九長廊、匯豐銀行;遠至法國及意大利威尼斯等。這是刻意想帶出個人空間超現實地進佔公共地方,營造另一番的環境狀態、氣氛和味道。非一般的城市景觀旅程,就由一張朝行晚拆的摺床開始。摺床沒有家,但好像一直存活在家裡。 在「與床對話之空間寄居」的展覽中,策展人霍天雯和藝術家李民偉運用摺床作為創作語言,將2尺X6尺為單元的「居住」面積,帶進城市及公共時空,與人展開對話。公共藝術作品不單是一件擺在公共地方的漂亮裝飾品,而是透過公眾不同形式的參與,植根於本土文化,一個集結社會進化過程的結晶品。是次展覽把摺床擬人化地穿梭出現於不同的公共空間,藝術家之意不只在抒發其個人對城市環境、社會、生活的反思及無限寄語,也希望藉此讓香港人重新思考本地的公共空間及公共藝術發展的政策。
