This publication is the result of the course, Dialogues in Public Space, held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Program in Art, Culture & Technology, in the Spring of 2010. The course, led by Professor Antoni Muntadas, focused on the concept of 'spatial cultural identity' in relation to the design and intervention of urban public space. This concept was used to address and negotiate the complexities of ideas, situations, objects and materials inherent to any public space. In response to a class trip to Seoul, the students developed individual projects which resulted in a wide range of outcomes from installation, to short film, to prototypes, to digital media presentations, to branding for a campaign and beyond. Their projects are documented in this publication.
