For Macau's second participation at the Venice Biennale, proposals were called based on the theme of 'Divergence'. From the total of 24 proposals received, 12 were selected to be first exhibited at the Macau Museum of Art, of which three works were selected to represent Macau at the 53rd Venice Biennale. The jury consisted of Feng Boyi, Huang Kuang-Nan, Ho Hing-kay, Ung Vai Meng, and António Conceição Júnior. The 12 shortlisted works are featured in this publication, accompanied by artists' statements. Judges' comments and artists' biographies are also provided.
