DMZ_2005 is an international art project that addresses the philosophical, political, social, and cultural ramifications of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) between North and South Korea and other zones of separation wherever they exist in the world. This catalogue accompanies an exhibition of interdisciplinary site-specific projects at numerous venues in the vicinity of the DMZ from June to July 2005. Their works explore concepts such as territory, zoning of memory, division of national identities, the politics of information, and control and access to information. Brief artist biographies are provided. Please note that only Asian artists are listed below.
