Festival of Art & Environment at Chu-Wei
1 / 3
Since 1995, Bamboo Curtain Studio has been dedicated to the development of Taiwanese contemporary art, especially of young artists, offering them a venue to present their works. The studio is now trying to function not only as a venue, but also as a platform for local people and artists, organising long-period residency programs and working with surrounding communities. This exhibition is the first step in their new endeavour, curated by Catherine GROUT, a French curator interested in public art plans. Associated with the exhibition was an international symposium, ‘The Cultural Landscape of Public Spaces’, which discussed how relationships could be developed with communities through contemporary art. This leaflet lists the artists, map of the location of each piece, panellists from the symposium and the details of organisers and supporters. Artists coming from the West included: Marcel Dinahet and Fabien Lerat.
