Catalogue of solo exhibition of photograms by Ei-Kyi, held at the Museum of Modern Art Saitama, Japan between June and July 1997. Generally known as photograms, this method of placing objects directly on photographic paper and exposing them to light, first came about in the nineteenth century with the invention of photography. It has been variously referred to as 'photogenic drawing' by William Henry Fox Talbot, 'rayographs' by Man Ray, and 'photograms' by Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. Ei-Kyu referred to his as 'photo-dessins.' Includes works by Kunie Sugiura. Essay by curator, Gen Umezu.
