Established as an annual event in 2001, Groundwork showcases the works of Foundation students at LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts, Singapore. Groundwork IV: Small Packages (held at the college between 3-14 May 2004) are composed of works and projects from the Drawing and Art History Courses. Emphasis on the theoretical aspects of Art History, Art Theory and Professional Practice help to foster higher conceptual and perceptual understanding in students. Essays by Tony See, Jeffrey Say and Tang Ling Nah. See's essay confronts the assumption (Ng Aik Kwan) that 'Asians are less creative than westerners.'
