The present publication features monochromatic paintings of children at play by Guo Wei from 1997 to 2004. In Guo Wei's words, 'People are asking why children, for me they are the models of my concept. The children are more like actors/actresses; they are playing their own title roles. Yet, they are also participating in you, me and other people's supporting roles. They play adults and children; they act out the good and bad. They are somdbody in my work, and that somebody is whom I really care for.'
