This video features the opening of exhibition Home and Homeless: Portraits of Families (Part I) and accompanying talk held at the Goethe Gallery (Goethe-Institut Hongkong) on 7 February 2004. The thematic show, commissioned by Hong Kong Arts Festival 2003 and curated by Oscar Ho, brings forth the new works of four local photo-journalists, including Lei Jih Sheng, Raymond Chan, Simon Go and Chung Chuk-ming to look into the notions and modes of home in Hong Kong.

With short addresses by Charles Lee (Chairman, HK Arts Festival), Douglas Gautier (Executive Director, HK Arts Festival), Marte Bode (Deputy Director, Goethe-Institut HK) and Oscar Ho in that order at the exhibition opening.

In the talk, curator Oscar Ho related his curatorial direction of the commissioned show, and artists Lei, Chan and Chung explained how they have started the assignments. With Leung Foon as the guest speaker, the notions and narratives of home in the post-1997 period were discussed. (The first 30 minutes of the talk was featured.)
