Catalogue of solo exhibition by Chandrasekaran at The Gallery - Fort Canning Centre, Singapore in 1996. 'The works of Chandrasekaran cover a remarkable range. Although best known as an installation-cum-performance artist, he is a painter as well as a sculptor using a wide variety of sometimes unusual materials. Coming from a family that has traditionally made a living from manufacturing domestic Hindu shrines, he is strongly influenced by Hindu religious concepts. Based on these, Chandrasekaran creates a new powerful language of icons to describe today's sensibilities.' Chandrasekaran's biography is provided in the catalogue.
