Context
Founded by Ai Weiwei and Hans van Dijk, the organisation became active from 1993 under the name New Amsterdam Art Consultancy. It was later renamed China Art Archives & Warehouse (CAAW) in 1999. CAAW is one of the first galleries in Beijing and focuses on Chinese conceptual and experimental art.
