In 2001, the Ma Tau Kok Animal Quarantine Depot Slaughterhouse was converted into the current day Cattle Depot Artist Village which now houses about twenty art collectives including Videotage, 1a Space, On & On Theatre Workshop, and Frog King's (Kwok Mangho) studio. The Cattle Depot Artist Village has held various different art activities and events such as the Cattle Depot Festival in 2003 and the Cattle Depot Book Fair (2003-2005).
