Microwave International New Media Arts Festival (Microwave Festival) is an annual video art festival originally organised by the Hong Kong based Videotage, started in 1996. In 2016, Microwave Festival registered as an independent organisation. Since its establishment, Microwave Festival has embraced a wider range of new media art and is known to be the first and only art festival in Hong Kong dedicated to new media art. According to their website, Microwave Festival aims to be a 'platform and gateway for [Hong Kong artists] to develop their art and skills' through introductions to international institutions and curators, as well as 'nurture a rising local new media arts community' through their various programmes.
