Catalogue of the group exhibition held at Aakriti Art Gallery, Kolkata in 2007. The exhibition was organised as a homage to the memory of Bikash Bhattacharjee (1940 -2006), who was one of the pioneers of modernistic painting in India in 1960s and 70s. The exhibition presented paintings by 20 senior artists of West Bengal, India. In the accompanying article, curator Mrinal Ghosh says that these artists were 'very much conscious about the socio-temporal reality around them' and that they were 'expanding the nature of eclecticism, which is an important formal attitude in modernity, towards both local heritage and global traditions'. Includes images of each artist's work accompanied by brief biography and explanatory text.
