Catalogue published in conjunction with the titled retrospective exhibition of Singaporean artist Lim Tze Peng (b.1921) at the National Art Museum, Beijing and the Liu Haisu Art Museum, Shanghai in April and May 2009 respectively. It marks Lim's first solo presentation in China and was jointly organized by the Singapore Art Museum (SAM). The works, many of which are drawn from the SAM's permanent collection, encompass calligraphy, ink and oil paintings and provide an overview of the prolific artist's development over the past several decades. Early works, such as those featuring Singapore's landscapes just before urban development in the 1970s and 80s, to more recent 'xieyi' ink paintings are included. Several essays and artist's biography included.
