'The book is the third and final installment in a comprehensive archival, research project initiated by SALT in 2012 with the aim of re-introducing to art history a figure who was about to drift out of its narrative. Ismail Saray's artistic practice throughout the 1970s and '80s in Turkey and abroad is significant and resonates with the advanced international practices of its time. However, when we embarked on this project the sources available on Saray were extremely limited.
