Publication that chronicles Ismail Saray's artistic trajectory in Turkey and overseas between 1960s and 2016. It includes re-print of archival material such as artwork documentation, ephemera, correspondence and clippings, as well as research essays and interviews.

'The book is the third and final installment in a comprehensive archival, research project initiated by SALT in 2012 with the aim of re-introducing to art history a figure who was about to drift out of its narrative. Ismail Saray's artistic practice throughout the 1970s and '80s in Turkey and abroad is significant and resonates with the advanced international practices of its time. However, when we embarked on this project the sources available on Saray were extremely limited. Understanding the artist's life and practice required tracing the trajectory of his production along an axis spanning London, Istanbul, Kutahya, and Paris; recovering photos, drafts, and letters from the family home; unearthing works from fellow artists' studios and storage spaces; and recording countless hours of interviews to unearth the stories that accompany the artist's work.' - excerpt from 'Foreword' in the publication.
