Jashn-Osianama is an annual visual arts festival held at Mumbai and New Delhi. Its aim is to show Indian, Asian and World art, cinema and culture to the general public, and to bridge the gap between Western museum exhibition experience and Indian 'mela'. The theme of year 2009 is '500 Years of Violence Non Violence'. Selected work from the Osian's Archive and Library Collection, divided into 14 topics, was shown at two different venues. The first part of the exhibition was held at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, from June to July 2009, while the second part was held at Visual Arts Gallery, Habitat Center, New Delhi, in July 2009. 13 topics shown in the first part include the following:

5. Tippoo Sultan & The Forts of India: Henry Singleton, Rare Company School Paintings, Antiquarian Lithography and Photography
6. Felice Beato - Documenting The Rebellious Mutiny, 1857-8
7. Famine in India: Rare Antiquarian Photography by WW Hooper, Paintings by Chittaprosad, Gobardhan Ash, Ramkinkar Baij & Laxma Goud
8. Focus on the Artist: Chittaprosad - and the Nationalistic Struggle
9. Gandhiji and the Nationalistic Struggle: Rare Artworks by DP Roy Chowdhury, RN Chakraborty, Haku Shah, A Paida Raju, V Masoji; Vintage Lithography and Photography by Henri Cartier Bresson
10. Defying Death: Vintage Magic Memorabilia pf Houdini and Duval
11. Death and Attack from Outer Space: Vintage Hollywood Horror and Sci Fi Posters, 1950-60s
12. The Gun as Glamour: From Brando to Bond to Bachchan: Vintage Hollywood and Hindi Film Memorabilia, with a focus on James Bond, Clint Eastwood and Amitabh Bachchan
13. Death as News: Rare Photography of Violence by Reuters (India) during the 1980-90s

The 14th topic, 'Imaging Death and Its Violence: A Focus on Modern and Contemporary Indian Art' was shown in the second part of the exhibition. Artists participating in this part of the exhibition are listed below.
