Jason Chi was born in 1969 in Taichung, Taiwan. After emigrating to the United States, he started his career as a painter by winning the national and regional first prize in U.S. National Family Arts Competition when he was a high school student. He then studied art in Italy, followed by a masters program in the States. His works would, by and large, fall under the category of abstract painting, but with subtle concrete images, which may let people imagine bamboo fences or such traditional Asian patterns. With two essays by art critics in front and a brief biography of the artist at the back of the catalogue.
