This issue of the Journal features the joint exhibition entitled Ten, which brings together landscape paintings by ten artists from New York, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
The accompanying essays look at the appreciation of traditional Chinese painting in this century; the collection of contemporary art by an American institution; and the various aspects of the Chinese ink painting tradition such as brushwork and the importance of drawing on and understanding the art of the old masters.
