This book is a monograph of Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata. It is comprised of illustrations of Kawamata's selected works and the processes in creating his timber construction projects over the years.
In the interview by PH Studio, Kawamata started all those timber constructions when he first thought of making a structural support system underlying the canvas plane as the basis of exhibition instead of painting a subject. And he was not conscious of it as architecture at all, it was only in 1981/1982 that architectural elements began to appear in his work.
Artist's biography and selected bibliography are included.
