The present catalogue features Kim Hong Joo's painting exhibition at Rodin Gallery in Seoul. 'Kim started out in the early 1970s as a member of S.T., an avant-garde artists collective engaging in conceptual art in the mid-1970s. With his works, the artist provided viewers with intriguing visual experiences. From the 1990s on, the artist has focused on images of meticulously delineated flower. Turning his attention to surface qualities rather than representation per se, he has been concentrating on creating painterly images.
