This book reproduces some of M.F. Husain's monumental paintings, which range from twelve to forty feet, and demonstrates Husain's endeavor to engage the epics in contemporary terms. A device he uses in his work is to dramatically shift back and forth in time, juxtaposing props and figures with keen wit. Descriptive notes accompany colour plates. With essay by Roshan Shahani.
