The present monograph of Lu Hao features the artist's works produced between the years 1999 and 2006, including his recent paintings of alleys and old buildings from the Homes series and Vanishing Homes series. As said by Feng Boyi, 'Structurally, the urbanization of China is about destruction and reconstruction; as the past and the present overlap, scenarios and physical spaces of a progressively complex nature emerge. Lu Hao's goal is to draw sketches of the land. He records and reflects upon the city's modernization. He explores the relationship between human and history, human and nature as well as human and the contemporary cultural conditions.' Artist biography is provided in the monograph.
