Masquerade: Representation and the self in contemporary art represents one of the MCA's major projects for 2006 and it features a range of local and international artists who engage with themes of individual identity through their art. Eighteen artists are included, two of whom work in collaboration. The exhibition encompasses a range of approaches, some autobiographical and others focussed on the manipulation of identity through disguise and assumed personae. Artist biographies are provided in this catalogue.
