Catalogue of solo exhibition by Matthew Ngui at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney in 2006. Matthew Ngui is an artist whose subtle and complex installations, videos, photographs and performances explore the shifting nature of perception, location and identity. Encompassing the past two decades of the artist's practice, Matthew Ngui: Points of View brings together installations and moving-image works that question the singular point of view, suggesting that we are always in a process of negotiation with our surroundings. Also included is documentation from several of Ngui's public projects, realised and unrealised, that demonstrate the ambition and openness of Ngui's artistic practice, with its strong desire to communicate and connect. The present catalogue includes artist biography, and forewords by Elizabeth Ann Macgregor and Eugene Tan.
