Sumet Jumsai is a well-known Thai architect. He was at the forefront of historical conservation in the 1960s and has received numerous accolades in the field. However in 2006, Sumet Jumsai built a house and studio by in the sea in Sriracha and began to paint, mostly in oils. Forty or so of his paintings are exhibited at H Gallery, 201 Sathon Soi 12, until May 29, 2007. Entitled Military Hardware and Other Intersts, his subjects are architectural facades, tanks, airplanes, rockets, cars and portraits.
