Catalogue of joint exhibition entitled Microcosmo - Chinese Contemporary Art by artists from China, Macau, Taiwan and Hong Kong, held at The Macao Museum of Art in 2006. According to Gao Shiming, the exhibition investigates the concept of 'micrology', a term that originally designates a science that treats microscopic objects or depends on microscopic observation. In this exhibition, this term is used to direct the audience's attention to a new attitude towards reality, a new gesture detached from cultural symbols, ideology, and vulgarized sociology. Many works in the exhibition demonstrate contemporary artists' intense investigation of politics in daily life. This new approach encourages not only a closer contact with reality, but also the formulation of a personal ideology. With artist biograhies and installation views at The Macao Museum of Art.
