In August 2009, Ai Weiwei was attacked by police in his hotel room in Chengdu, China, and barred from attending the trial of fellow activist Tan Zuoren. Another activist on his team was detained after the police raid. This documentary film captures the entire ordeal as Ai Weiwei, together with Tan Zuoren's attorney and others, dispute with the local authorities. Tan Zuoren was later found guilty of inciting subversion in connection to his role in a citizen-led investigation of student deaths caused by 'tofu dregs' construction of schools that collapsed in the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake.

In Mandarin with Chinese (Simplified) subtitles.
