'Ichi Ikeda has over the past 20 years developed his artworks strongly connected with global environmental problems, especially concerning water, the earth's most precious resource. He has dedicated his career to raising global awareness around issues of water conservation through international conferences, community activism, public performances and interactive installations. His artworks, hoping to work towards an ecologically sustainable future, are widely known as IKEDA WATER.' (excerpt from p. 56)
This catalogue documents Ikeda's 'Moving Water Days: Kedogawa River Art Project,' featuring backpacking water for the future in 2006, water-in-water in 2007 and Five Floating Isles in 2008.
