This catalogue is published as part of the exhibition 'Naiza H Khan: Restore the Boundaries - The Manora Project' at Art Dubai in March 2010. Naiza Khan has documented the transformation of Manora, a small island near Karachi now experiencing urban decay, for over two years. The artist's approach in deploying multiple aesthetic strategies and a variety of media, including drawing, photography and video, 'does not privilege a single method or voice, but attempts to fashion narratives, metaphors, and dialectical juxtapositions, which offer the viewer a series of illuminating flashes of Manora's fraught trajectories,' notes Iftikhar Dadi.
