For the past two years, Naiza H. Khan has been engaged in documenting urban decay on Manora Island (near Karachi), which she considers as representative of what many other cities in the region are experiencing. Many buildings are awaiting demolition or have simply been left to crumble as modern developments are planned for the area. The resulting body of work by Khan, encompassing sculpture, painting, photography, video and print, explores the particular spirit of the place and the life of its inhabitants amidst this period of uncertainty.
