Naofumi Maruyama is a Japanese artist from Niigata and had lived in Germany for several years. Maruyama's paintings are characterised by his choice of subject taken from everyday life (such as children in play), the use of fresh colours (such as grass green), and his representation of forms with fuzzy contours. A more in-depth study of Maruyama's oeuvre can be found in Dr. Gregor Jansen's essay. An artist biography is included.
