Full catalogue of Natee Utarit's solo exhibition 'The Amusement of Dreams, Hope and Perfection' on view at the Art Center, Chulalongkorn University from October to November 2007 and at Numthong Gallery from December 2007 to January 2008. It features a series of paintings produced by Natee Utarit following the September 2006 military coup that overthrew a democratically-elected Thai government. Utarit uses iconography found in government pamphlets from the 1950's as a thematic and pictorial starting point, looking beyond its propagandistic slogans to meanings embedded in its signs and images (e.g. the Thai flag) to examine the significance of history in the current political climate. With essays by Iola Lenzi, Surakand Toesomboon and statement by the artist. Artist's biography and list of works included.
