This publication is produced on the occasion of group exhibition of the same title held by Tokyo Gallery + Beijing Tokyo Art Projects in Beijing from September to October 2013.

'Hazy faction' is a Japanese art school appeared in the late Meiji era. The paintings are characterized by the abandonment of traditional line drawing technique, and the exclusion of clear outline. Based on such painting style, contemporary artists from four different countries exhibit their works, aiming at re-opening a fresh and inspiring discussion on 'hazy faction'.
