This anthology contains texts that focus on the varying issues central to the contemporary art scene in the global world, including the marketisation of culture, the state of (cultural) production in the Post-Fordist era, the flexibility of (cultural/artistic) capital accumulation, the relevance of spatiality, geography and cartography in contemporary art making. It also touches on the play of temporality in the dialectic of the modern and the postmodern debate in cultural theory and practices. Divided into three main sections, this collection of writings sheds light on the theoretical issues that are at stake in the heart of this Post-Fordist debate, as well as provides specific case studies examining particular examples of art practices from West Asia and Eastern Europe.

This book project is initiated by the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano, Italy.
