Born and raised in Hong Kong, Vincent Yu has worked as a photojournalist covering major news events across the Asia-Pacific region since 1985. Learning that the Shek Kip Mei Estate, Hong Kong's oldest public housing estate with a history of fifty years, was soon to be demolished and lamenting the fall of yet another historical buildings in Hong Kong, he embarked on the photographic documentation of the history, faces, and places of the housing estate in 2005. The present publication is the result of this project. Artist's biography is included.
