This catalogue accompanies an exhibition that celebrates the recent revival of the Indian miniature. It places the works of four young artists who are graduates of the National College of Arts, Lahore, alongside centuries-old miniature drawings and paintings.

'Imran Mudassar takes the tradition of making elaborate embossed covers for manuscripts and gives it a punchy twist by using emblems of war as the centre-piece or each. Mahbub Shah has cut up and repositioned elements of pages from mass media to produce elegant and amusing commentaries on them. Amjad Ali Talpur, has painted portraits in the Mughal tradition and then divided the images into unsettling yet captivating moveable tiles. Imran Channa is the romantic of this quartet with atmospheric works that evoke the poetic landscapes of traditional works.' - from introduction by Paula Weideger
