Catalogue published on the occasion of the exhibition ‘Public Art in Japan’ which was held at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Sapporo, and The Setagaya Art Museum, Tokyo, in 2006. The exhibition showcases examples of public art projects across Japan. A chronology of the development of Japanese public art from 1949 to 2006 and a list of more than 150 works with images are included in this publication.
The catalogue is divided into three chapters: Epoch-Making Projects, Unique Projects, and Aspects of Post-war Public Arts.
