This publication is produced in occasion of the solo exhibition of Pakistani artist Rashid Rana at the Musée national des arts asiatiques Guimet from July to November 2010.
The artist proposes an intervention into the Museum, in which he places his artworks consisting of digital prints and photographs among the permanent collection of the Guimet, which consists of art and crafts from Asian cultures and heritages. By doing so the artist toys with the perception of the audience, as well as creates a dialogue between contemporary artistic practices and ancient Asian material culture.
Includes an artist's statement, a curatorial essay, an interview with the artist by Hans Ulrich Obrist, and a biography of the artist.
